Consumer confidence heads for shelter, in the basement

There are a lot of storms this year. Tornadoes have ravaged parts of the country where they are rarely spotted. Floods have covered the plains states and there seems to be no sign of slowing.



What did we expect from the economy with the storm brewing in DC? The jobless rate is astronomical, gas prices - holy cats! Food prices up, up and up. And now home sales down yet another 2%.

U.S. Consumer Sentiment Unexpectedly Falls to Six-Month Low on Job Outlook

Consumer sentiment unexpectedly
decreased in May to the lowest level in six months as Americans
grew concerned over the outlook for jobs and the economy, while
a measure of home prices dropped to a nine-year low.
